As the feud with Shatta Wale heats up, Ghanaian rapper Fameye begs Medikal to step in.
Renowned rapper Fameye has reached out to fellow musician Medikal for assistance in ending a months-long lull with dancehall king Shatta Wale in an open and sincere social media post that has generated a lot of conversation in Ghana’s thriving music industry.
Fans are wondering what might have caused the fallout after seeing the plea on Facebook this morning, which emphasises the difficulties of personal and professional relationships in the industry.

Famous for songs like “Songs of Peter,” Fameye, whose true name is Peter Ankamagyei, shared a raw message on social media, tagging Medikal and Shatta Wale: “My brother @Medikalbyk, you get me to go meet @shattawalegh for dinner because he hasn’t spoken to me at all for months. We used to be really cool, but he doesn’t fit me like that anymore. Every time I leave a comment on one of his posts, wei ien fans don’t give up! As it turns out, I have never met Wale in person.
In just a few hours, the post has received over 1,600 likes, 230 reposts, and around 90 reactions, demonstrating Fameye’s annoyance at Shatta Wale’s seeming radio silence.
He recalls their strong relationship and how followers constantly tag him and beg him to make amends anytime he interacts with Shatta’s stuff on the internet. The absurdity of their virtual friendship waning is further highlighted when Fameye reveals that, despite their shared collaborations, he has never even met the “Dancehall King” in person.
This isn’t the first time these musicians have crossed paths musically. Fameye and Shatta Wale earlier collaborated on the upbeat song “Sika Dam” by Amerado from the Patience EP in 2021, showcasing their chemistry on wax.
Medikal, whose real name is Samuel Adu Frimpong and who has a long-standing acquaintance with Shatta Wale, has collaborated with the dancehall legend on several occasions, most notably on the 2025 hit song “Shoulder” with Beeztrap KOTM. Medikal is seen by Fameye as a natural mediator because of the viral dance challenge in that song, which has maintained their partnership in the public eye.
