Sarkodie revealed that the event, called Rapperholic: Homecoming, would be held on Saturday, September 27 at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in an Instagram post on July 22, 2025.

In order to obtain permission to have the concert in his kingdom, Sarkodie travelled to Manhyia to speak with Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, the Asantehene. He assured supporters that the event will be thrilling.

Following that, he embarked on a lengthy promotional tour across the city, which culminated in the announcement of supporting acts such as Medikal, Efya, and Shatta Wale, the dancehall king of Ghanaian music.

Rain started to pour into the Baba Yara Sports Stadium during the concert, leaving people frantically seeking cover after months of excited anticipation.

Dek 360 Ghana’s TikTok site featured a video that YEN.com.gh was able to view, showing dozens of fans running out into the open to seek safety from the collapse.

While those without umbrellas shielded themselves with various pieces of clothing, several people had umbrellas.

A TikTok video of Sarkodie fans escaping the rain at Rapperholic may be found below.

Another video showed some fans wringing their clothing out after the rain and declaring that they would not let anything stop them from having a good time at the event.
