Jesus Ahuofe, the pastor in the Shatta Wale case, was given GHc 100,000.

A GHc100,000 bail has been given to Bishop Stephen Kwesi Appiah, also known as Jesus Ahuofe, of the New Life Kingdom Chapel, who is accused of foretelling Charles Nii Armah Mensah’s (Shatta Wale) demise.

He entered a not guilty plea to a charge of inciting fear and terror after spending four days in lawful custody.

He must provide three sureties with gainful employment as part of his bail requirements, and he must report to the police on Mondays and Thursdays.

The case has been postponed until October 29.

Bishop Appiah was on Thursday remanded into Police custody after he pleaded not guilty to the charge of causing fear and panic before the Circuit Court presided over by Her Honour Mrs Ellen Offei Aryeh.

Jesus Ahuofe was arrested following his prophecy that dancehall artiste, Shatta Wale, would be shot on October 18, 2021.

In court on Thursday, October 21, counsel for the accused person Martin Kpebu while praying for bail said, his client was unwell.

But, he did not provide any piece of evidence to support his argument. The prosecution led by Chief Inspector Dennis Terkpetey opposed the grant of bail.

The court after listening to the parties remand the accused person into police custody to reappear on Monday, October 25, 2021.
