When a Nigerian woman gave her husband a ₦12 million gold wristwatch as a wedding present, it caused a lot of internet controversy.
George Clara posted a video on TikTok that showed the woman’s husband inquisitively opening the opulent object, capturing the poignant moment. When he learnt of the watch’s outrageous cost, his face instantly changed to one of surprise.

A light-hearted conversation ensued, during which the husband praised his wife’s lavish present and mockingly referred to the gesture as a “competition.”
